With Apple announcing its September 14 event, it has apparently been confirmed that new iPhones will arrive. However, the most important thing you should probably keep in mind is that the new iPhone 13 series should go on sale in India from October 1. So we will break it down for you. How did we come up with that date?
Apple is expected to announce four new iPhones, including the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Following Apple’s usual launch schedule on Tuesdays, new iPhones are expected to be pre-ordered from September 17 in the first wave of markets, most likely to miss the Indian market.
First wave markets include the US, Japan, Australia, Canada, China, and the UK. These markets should receive the new iPhone 13 models starting September 24. While India should be in the second wave of markets, which means that October 1 is the date when you should set your calendars to buy the new iPhones.
For example, Apple released the iPhone 12 series globally on October 13. The new iPhone models were pre-ordered in the first wave markets on October 16, while the models were available to buy in these markets starting on October 23. The iPhone 12 Pro went on sale in India last year on October 30. Last year, pre-orders for the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max started in India on November 6, while both models went on sale in India on November 13.
Speaking of the iPhone 11, Apple released it on September 10, 2019, and the models went on sale in the first wave market on September 20. In India, the iPhone 11 series, including iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, went on sale as of September 28, 2019.
While this is based on speculation, we may see the new iPhones hitting the Indian market much later than expected. But, following Apple’s usual release timeline, the October 1 date should be more or less spot on, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed until Apple officially announces it.
Pricing wise, the iPhone 13 series is expected to be priced similarly to its predecessor, but chip shortages and other limitations may push prices up slightly. To recall, the iPhone 12 price in India started at Rs 79,900 for the 64GB model, while the iPhone 12 Pro at Rs 119,900. On the other hand, the iPhone 12 mini came in at Rs 69,900 while the iPhone 12 Pro Max at Rs 129,900.
Speaking of the iPhone 13 range, the new iPhone models are not likely to have any major cosmetic changes. The two main changes that have been rumored for months have been the smaller screen notch and the larger camera lens on the back. The new iPhones are also expected to bring some camera-related improvements, including a completely new version in Portrait mode for videos.
